Burning update-

Chandigarh: As we can see the Monsoon season had quite an impact on several areas in Punjab considering all the damage and destruction caused due to heavy rainfall District Disaster Management Authority released  order regarding the closing of schools till 13 July 2023 (Thursday ) which said:

  1. Whereas since the morning of 9 july 2023,Ut Chandigarh experienced heavy and continuous rainfall and there is a prediction for heavy rainfall in the coming days as well.the significant rainfall and continuous forecast raise concerns regarding water logging and disruption in civic amenities in several areas of UT Chandigarh.the torrential rains have also impacted the school infrastructure and have made travel risky due to water logging’
  2. In view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions, the District Disaster Management Authority vide file NO.DDMA/2023/16779 dated 09-07-2023 has issued a detailed order and advisors for the general ,Public institutions, and Government/Semi-government offices located in Chandigarh for the safety of public.
  3. Therefore,in consideration of the aforementioned facts,to ensure the safety and security of the school student and staff. All the government.Govt.Aided, Privately recognized schools(including play schools, etc.) failing in UT Chandigarh are hereby directed to remain closed for physical classes /activities up to 13 July 2023 (Thursday).
  4. The school students and staff must be informed well in advance about the holidays declared upto 13 July 2023 so that they do no venture out.
