7th Pay Commission:

During the festive season, the central government is kind to the central employees. After increasing Dearness Allowance by 4 per cent on Navratri, the Union Ministry of Labor has now gifted an increase in Variable Dearness Allowance (Variable DA) to central employees ahead of Diwali. The increase in variable dearness allowance is effective from October 1, 2022.

This announcement by the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment will increase the minimum wage of workers working in agriculture. In the notification issued by the government, it is said that in view of the Central Government’s notification dated 19 January 2017, the Ministry of Labor has increased the variable dearness allowance.

It is worth noting that according to the Seventh Pay Commission, the traveling allowance and city allowance of the central employees will also increase after the 38 percent dearness allowance. Along with this, the provident fund and gratuity will also increase automatically.

Actually, monthly PF and gratuity of central employees are calculated from basic pay and DA. In such a case, with the increase in DA, there is sure to be an increase in PF and gratuity. Not only this, the increase in DA will also increase the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of central employees. It is being told that this increase can be up to 3 percent
