District administration fully prepared to deal with any situation: Deputy Commissioner

In view of the heavy rains falling in various states of the country including Punjab for the last two days, Deputy Commissioner Jitinder Jorwal has ordered the officials in all sub-divisions of district Sangrur to be more vigilant.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the water level in Ghaggar is still below the danger mark and people should be aware of rumours.

He said that the district administration is fully prepared to deal with any situation and constant communication is being maintained with the state flood control room.

Under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Tehsildar and SDO Drainage visited various sensitive places near Ghaggar river.

The Deputy Commissioner said that about two months ago, a mock drill was conducted by the district administration at Munak in coordination with the NDRF and administrative departments so that the impact of possible floods in the areas of district Sangrur which are under the influence of Ghaggar river can be minimized. Preparations for mitigation can be reviewed.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all the sub-divisional magistrates of the district to keep a close eye on the rivers, storm drains, rivers etc. coming in their respective sub-divisions and to inform them immediately in case of any emergency so that immediate action can be taken. can go
