Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today asked the newly appointed chairmen of various boards and corporations to ensure the benefit of public welfare schemes to the people at the grassroots level.

Presiding over the meeting at the local Punjab Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that the state government has launched many pro-people and pro-development schemes for the people of the state.

He said that the chairman should ensure that these benefits reach the people at the ground level. Bhagwant Mann said that it is the need of the hour that more and more people get the benefit of these schemes of the state government.

Discussing another agenda item, the Chief Minister asked the chairmen to submit a detailed list of vacant posts in their respective boards and corporations.

He said that based on this, the state government will soon start a big recruitment drive to fill the vacant posts in the boards and corporations. Bhagwant Mann said that the vacant posts are having a negative impact on the functioning of these boards and corporations.

The Chief Minister said that the recruitment drive will help streamline the functioning of these boards and corporations on the one hand and on the other hand provide government jobs to the youth of the state on a regular basis.

He asked the chairmen to regularly monitor the functioning of their boards and corporations so that people can benefit on a large scale.

Bhagwant Mann reiterated the commitment of the state government to ensure the welfare of the people and said that no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause.
