Singer and actor Lee Jihan has been confirmed dead in a crowd during a Halloween celebration in South Korea over the weekend.

His agency 935 Entertainment confirmed the sad news on Sunday, October 30, aesshowbiz.com reported, “Lee Jihan passed away due to an accident in Itawan on October 29”.

“We also hoped that this was not true, and we were very surprised to hear the news,” the agency added. Lee Jihan first entered the limelight in 2017 as a contestant on Mnet’s ‘Produce 101’ Season 2.

He originally auditioned for the show with a cover of Ed’s “Overdose” and left in the fifth episode. Lee Jihan made his debut as an actor in 2019 in the web drama ‘Today Was Another Nam Hyun Dae’. Li Jihan was 24 years old.

Family in shock

Asking the public to respect the family’s privacy during this period of mourning, the agency said, “The family is still suffering a lot, so we are very cautious. May God rest in peace.” The news of Lee Jihan’s passing first reached the public when many of his ‘Produce 101’ classmates, Park Heesok, Jo Jinhyung and Kim Dohyun, paid tribute on social media. He wrote on Instagram, “Ji Han has left this world and gone to a comfortable place. May you all bid him farewell on his final journey
The funeral will be held today
