The Home Ministry has cancelled  FCRA license of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. It is alleged that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation has violated the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.

The investigation revealed that the foundation had taken funds from the neighboring country China keeping in mind the rules.

The Home Ministry was probing the matter for a long time. The External Affairs Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken this action after the investigation of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation was found to be wrong.
Under the FCRA license, local organizations and NGOs can take grants from foreign organizations, individuals, but full information about the grant to be taken is given to the central government.

With this, it can be ascertained that the grant taken has been taken from which organization for which work. It is in the interest of the country and will be used in anti-national activities.
