Cabinet Minister Meet Hare’s big statement about pollution in Punjab, said…
On the occasion of Diwali, the average air quality index (AQI) in Punjab has decreased by 16.4 per cent compared to last year and 31.7 per cent compared to 2020.
Giving details, Environment Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare said that due to the continuous efforts of the Punjab Pollution Control Board and the appeal of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the air quality has improved significantly on the day of Diwali this year compared to previous years.
Environment Minister further said that last year and in 2020 any city has AQI. , while this year 2 cities (Khanna and Mandi Gobindgarh) have AQI. have been in the middle category of
He said that if seen as a whole, the AQI during Diwali this year (2022) compared to last year’s Diwali days (2020 and 2021) in the big 6 cities of Punjab. A big decrease has been seen in numbers
He further informed that the average AQI of Punjab on the occasion of Diwali. It was 224 (poor) this year compared to 268 (poor) in 2021 and 328 (very poor) in 2020.
