Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said here today that the action regarding the implementation of grade pay and service rules to the regular computer teachers working under the Picts Society as per the Sixth Pay Commission is going on vigorously and in this regard the Education Department is working with them. The relevant work has been completed and the file has been forwarded to Finance Department and Personnel Department for further action.
He said that the approval from the Finance and Personnel Department is likely to be received soon, with which the announcement regarding giving benefits to computer teachers will be made very soon.
The School Education Minister said that it is very important to get the approval of the Finance and Personnel Department to implement grade pay and service rules for computer teachers as per the Sixth Pay Commission. He said that he himself is continuously monitoring the action related to this matter and is in touch with the higher officials of Finance and Personnel Department regarding this matter.
He said that the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Maan had made a policy to appoint adhoc teachers as earlier, under which the portal has been opened to receive applications for hiring raw teachers only yesterday. In this way, the demands of computer teachers will be fulfilled soon.
He also said that if any employee of the education department is not permanent even after the implementation of the new policy of the government, then our government is committed to make him permanent.
Bains said that he is fully aware of all the legitimate demands of all the teachers and non-teaching staff working in the education department and is committed to address these legitimate demands and these demands will be fulfilled soon.
Thanking the state cabinet under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the decision to implement the old pension scheme, he said that this step of the government has proved that the Mann government is employee-friendly.
