Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema said here today that the Finance Department has approved the release of Rs 15 crore for three higher education institutions this week.
Giving information in this regard, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Finance Department has approved the release of Rs 8.5 crore for two higher education institutions of Majha region.
In which approval was given to release Rs 6.75 crore for construction works to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur University of Law, Kairon, Tarn Taran and Rs 1.71 crore to IIM, Amritsar.
Cheema further said that the Finance Department has appointed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali has approved the release of balance amount of Rs.6.50 crore as lump sum out of the approved budget for the financial year 2022-23.
The Finance Minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide financial assistance to the educational institutions of the state so that these institutions do not face any shortage of funds.
