A complaint has been filed against three hundred nambardars who blocked the National Highway in CM City Sangrur
Gurdwara Sidhana Sahib near Chandigarh-Bathinda National Highway (NH-7), Sangrur, at Thana Sadar Sangrur against about three hundred members of Nambardar Union Punjab (Galib) who blocked the Bathinda-Chandigarh National Highway near the residence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday. A case has been registered for jamming, harassing passers-by from the general public and preventing the government servant from performing his duty.
It is to be noted that yesterday, hundreds of protesters under the leadership of Nambardar Union Punjab (Galib) were demanding to make Nambardar tribal. Meanwhile, NH traffic was completely stopped by protesting near Gurudwara Sidhana Sahib in Sangrur in the number of hundreds.
The protestors were repeatedly urged by SHO Sadar Sangrur, DSP Rural Sangrur and Duty Magistrate Naib Tehsildar Sangrur to end this dharna to prevent the distress of common people but the protestors remained adamant. Due to which FIR 119/2022 has been registered against the names of 15 union leaders and 300/350 unidentified persons at Thana Sadar Sangrur.
Provincial President of Punjab Nambardar Union Ghalib at Thana Sadar Sangrur Praminder Singh Ghalib Kalan, Alamjit Singh, Mahinder Singh Toor, Harvinder Singh Masitan, Malkit Singh Ferozepur, Jagsir Singh Muktsar, Jagjit Singh, Jarnail Singh Bajwa Kapurthala, Harvinder Singh Samana, Jasdeep Singh Patiala , Mahendra Singh Mubarakpura, Jarnail Singh Daherka, Ranjit Singh Changli, Harvinder Singh Ghalib against about 250-300 persons including FIR No: 119 dated 10. 10. 2022 under section 353, 186, 332, 283, 290, 160, 506, 149, 188 IPC and A case has been registered under sections 8-B National Highway Act 1956 of IPC and National Highway A.
