A meeting of the steering committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni was held here today to review the Rs. .
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to speed up the work of the project to complete this important canal water project within the stipulated time. Sakshi Sahni said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to complete this water supply scheme based on canal water, which is considered the future lifeline of Patiala city, within the given time.
In the meeting, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aditya Uppal, Executive Engineer of Water Supply and Sewerage Board Jugal Kishore and Project Manager of Larsen & Toubro Company Sukhdev Jha gave information about the progress of the project.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the work of laying new lines for water supply including construction of water tanks including underground service water storage. He instructed the company that wherever the pipeline is being laid, it will be their responsibility to fix the road for traffic and install reflectors etc. so that accidents do not occur.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under this important project under the Amrut Scheme of the Central Government, which is a part of the Punjab Government, underground water storage to store 236 million liters of water, a water purification plant with a capacity of 115 million liters per day, 17.25 million liters of clean water. Bhandaran, 12 tanks and 16 ground dose tanks including laying of 312.22 km of new pipe lines are in progress in the city.
In the meeting, Assistant Commissioner (under training) Dr. Akshita Gupta, Superintending Engineer of Municipal Corporation Rajinder Chopra, Executive Engineer Ranbir Singh, EXN of Drainage Raman Bains, EXN of Irrigation Department Kirandeep Kaur and SDO of Water Supply Board. Sanjay Kumar and other officers were present.
