In compliance with the orders of the Punjab Government, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ankur Gupta has issued orders prohibiting the creation of noise pollution in order to comply with the orders of the Supreme Court.

Under which the noise level of firecrackers and loud speakers at the limits of public places is 10 dB.  (a) should not exceed

No person shall use any drum or bhompu or any sound producing device or sound amplifier between 10.00 pm to 06.00 am nor DJ in hotels and marriage palaces.  can be used except in case of public emergency.  The noise level in their neighborhood is also 7.5 D by those with personal sound systems.  B (A) will not be retained.

Besides, horn blowing will not be allowed in residential area from 10 pm to 6 am and sound system equipment will be confiscated if the order is violated.  This order will remain in force till 06.11.2022.
