The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working towards providing corruption-free government services to the people of the state.

Giving information in this regard, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that this morning someone had complained to him that the District Education Officer C.S. Arun Kumar, a clerk posted at the Pathankot office, was demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 even in return for doing legitimate work.

The complainant had also made the call recording available as evidence. Bains said that he immediately conducted a preliminary investigation regarding the complaint and the allegations were found to be true.

On which he D.P.I. Secondary Education ordered that Arun Kumar Clerk be immediately suspended. In this regard departmental orders have been issued.
