Under the orders of Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Punjab, the district administration has formed flying squad teams for checking illegal paddy/rice coming from other states in the district.
Giving information, DC Moga Kulwant Singh said that 8 teams have been formed in the entire district.
These teams have been formed at the level of Moga, Ajitwal, Baghapurana, Nihal Singh Wala, Badhnin Kalan, Dharamkot, Kot Ise Khan, Fatehgarh Panjtur Market Committees.
These teams include Tehsildars, Market Supervisors, Excise Inspectors and Police Officers. He also added that the teams will check on the market committee level especially in the evening/night hours.
Strict instructions have been issued to these teams that if the illegal paddy/rice found during checking should be confiscated immediately.
The seizure report will be sent to the District Market Officer, Moga. The DC said that with his approval, this report will be sent to the Food and Supplies Department
