Burning update,Chandigarh –

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued a stay order on the appointment of 2000 physical education assistants posted on contract through the Haryana Skilled Employment Corporation and sought a response from the government. Justice HS Sethi has ordered the government to file a reply and provide clarification on this.

According to the news of Punjab Kesari, the High Court has issued these orders while hearing the petition filed by Satbir Singh and others. During the argument, the bench was told that an advertisement was issued in 2006 to fill up 1983 posts of Physical Training Instruction (PTI) and the appointment was made by the commission in the year 2010 after declaring the results.

This recruitment was challenged in the High Court on the grounds of corruption. The High Court rejected this recruitment and  Supreme Court ordered the fresh recruitment. The High Court said that what is the purpose of recruitment on contract basis under Haryana Skill Employment Corporation?

Why the need to recruit PTI teachers when they are already working? The court questioned that when the Department itself has abolished the post, then why the appointment is being made, what will be their work? Along with this, the court has continued the interim order to stop this recruitment.
