Korba :The courage of a pregnant woman caught the thief in Korba district. The accused kicked the pregnant woman’s stomach, assaulted her, choked her, despite this she did not lose heart and finally the thief was caught. The incident is from village Rokabahri of Balko police station area. Police Station Incharge Inspector Manish Nagar said that grocer Purushottam Lal Sahu lives in village Rokabahri with his family. On the night of October 17, after dinner, all the family members went to sleep. A thief broke into the house at around 2 o’clock in the night. The accused jumped over the garage wall and jumped into the courtyard. This woke up Purushottam Sahu’s  .

The daughter-in-law first awoken her mother-in-law Savitri Sahu. After this, Bhumika first called her husband Shivanand Sahu, who lives in Sakti district and runs a medical shop, and informed her. After this, he called his father-in-law Purushottam from his mobile phone and expressed the fear of someone breaking into the house. At the time of the incident, many people in the house, her 8-year-old son, father-in-law Purushottam Sahu, grandfather-in-law Bhuvaneshwar Sahu and mother-in-law Savitri Sahu were at home. Bhumika was sleeping with her mother-in-law Savitri and son in room upstairs . Father-in-law Purushottam and grandfather-in-law Bhuvaneshwar were   downstair.

Hearing the commotion, the neighbors immediately gathered outside Purushottam Sahu’s house. When everyone came to know about the matter, they informed the Balko Thana police. ASI M L Dunsena reached the spot on the instructions of the police station in-charge inspector Manish Nagar. He took the accused into custody. The pistol in the hand of the accused also turned out to be fake. After removing the mask, the accused was identified as Sompal Kenwat, a resident of village Rokabahri. The police have arrested Sompal and registered an offense under section 323, 34, 458, 506 of the IPC.
