‘Unique Initiative by Sangrur Police’; SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu launched ‘Food on Wheels’ for long serving policemen and officials.
SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu has started ‘Food on Wheels’ as an exclusive initiative for police officers and employees who are on duty for long hours to fulfill their duties.
Sangrur police is the first to launch the van, called ‘Food on Wheels’, launched on the occasion of the auspicious day of Gurpurab, will provide services like a mobile kitchen with a gas cylinder and stove, four large-capacity cookers to keep food warm. Food containers, water, tea etc. have been fully arranged.
While formally inaugurating this van from Sangrur city, SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that this idea came to his mind when ater seeing police personnels doing their duties for long duration .In view of the problem of timely food for the police personnel during their various long duties, the idea of preparing ‘Food on Wheels’ came to his mind.
He said that during various VVIP duties, religious and political events and dharna demonstrations, our policemen perform their duties with full promptness and with a sense of responsibility and in the future, kitchen vans will be given to the policemen who perform such long duties. Food will be provided.
Sidhu said that it is our responsibility to provide food to the police personnel at least once in the afternoon during their long duties so that they can perform their duties diligently.
He said that apart from this, arrangements for tea time have also been made in this ‘Food on Wheels’ van and a dustbin has also been provided in the van with special care for cleanliness. On this occasion, all the officers and employees including Sidhu also ate the food served by the van.
On the occasion of launching the kitchen van, SP Jasbir Singh, SP Palwinder Singh Cheema and SP Manpreet Singh, SDM Sangrur Navreet Kaur Sekhon, DSP Headquarters Rupinder Kaur and other police officers were also present.
