Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO Acting on the instructions given by the Public Works Department, two Assistant Engineers who have done substandard work by disregarding the standards in the repair of roads have been suspended from government service with immediate effect. This suspension has been done under Rule 4 of the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970.

The cabinet minister while giving information in this regard said that Mahesh Kumar Sharma and Rajesh Kaura, Assistant Engineers of the Public Works Department, during the special repair of the roads, neglected the prescribed standards in the work of the link road from Tiur to Jakar Majra and carried out inferior work.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government will provide a corruption-free, transparent administration to the people of Punjab and strict action will be taken against officials and employees involved in corrupt activities and dereliction of duty.

He said that apart from these, two employees Sogandh Singh Bhullar, Executive Engineer, Construction Division No. 1, Public Works Department and Dilpreet Singh, Sub Divisional Engineer, Construction Sub Division No. 2, Public Works Department have given their clarification to the government within 4 days.
