Big Breaking: Vigilance registered FIR against three bribe takers including two police officers, two arrested

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has on Friday registered a case of bribery against two Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) and a woman Punjab Home Guard (PHG) volunteer in the ongoing drive against corruption, two of them The policemen have been arrested.

The spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the Bureau has ASI. FIR No. 12 under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Ludhiana against Tejinder Singh (922/LDH), ASI Nasib Singh (2212/LDH) and Lady PHG Jyoti (No. 16240) all posted at Police Chowki Bus Stand Ludhiana on the complaint of Manjeet of Village Kasandi of District Haryana Sonepat
.In this case, ASI Tejinder Singh and Lady PHG Jyoti have been arrested on the basis of interrogation. Giving more information about this matter, he said that the complainant Manit filed a case on the Punjab Anti-Corruption Helpline and told that he was charged with IPC at Police Station Division No. 5 Ludhiana. He has been arrested under section 45/19, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B.

There are about 35 other co-accused in this case. In his complaint, Manjit said that he had joined the army as a Rajput on a fake address and caste certificate, but he belongs to the Jat caste. After getting bail from the court in this police case, the complainant has approached ASI Tejinder Singh to present the challan of his case in the court, who had taken 20,000 in installments from him in this regard.
It is further stated in the complaint that on 11.7.22, Ph.G. Jyoti called him and asked for Rs 20,000 more to help him in the matter, but the deal was settled for Rs 15,000. During the conversation he recorded her call as evidence. The complainant said that on 12.9.22, he visited Ph.G. Jyoti was met who demanded Rs 15000 as bribe, but he refused.

After which on the same day ASI Tejinder Singh and ASI Nasib Singh took a bribe of Rs 500 each from him and also made a video recording of the complaint. The spokesperson further said that during the investigation, the facts in the complaint were found to be correct and a case has been registered against all the above accused. He said that two of the three accused, ASI Tejinder Singh and Lady PHG Jyoti, have been arrested. Further investigation of this matter is ongoing.
