Yesterday, a district-level function was organized at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium here in connection with the Republic Day in which Punjab Minister of School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education and Industrial Training Harjot Singh Bains participated as the chief guest. On this occasion, he performed the ceremony of hoisting the national flag and gave a message to the residents of the district. On this occasion, he inspected the parade and took a salute from the parade. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and S.S.P. Mrs. Kanwardeep Kaur was specially present.

Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said in his address that the Punjab government has taken many people-friendly initiatives during its 10-month tenure under which 117 schools in the state are being upgraded as Schools of Eminence. A budget of Rs 200 crore has been kept for this purpose. He said that under the Business Blaster program for the welfare of the students, they will be prepared to make them self-reliant in their lives, and develop financial and leadership skills.

Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains also announced a grant of 5 lakh rupees to develop Shaheedi Martyr Hussainiwala as a tourist center and said that the National Monument Hussainiwala along with Ferozshah, Mudki, Sabhara, Saragarhi, and other places of historical importance will be visited by tourists. will be developed as a center so that people from far and wide can get to know about these historical places.

He said that teachers are the builders of our society and the Punjab government is fully committed to the welfare of teachers. Under this, 5994 E.T.T. The recruitment process of teachers has already started and more will be recruited in future. He said that 400 more Aam Aadmi Clinics will be provided by the Punjab government for health care, from which people will be provided with better health facilities.

He said that this day reminds us to realize the dreams taken by our martyrs/freedom fighters about the future of India and also provides an opportunity to take stock of our overall performance. He said that various welfare schemes are being run by the Punjab government.

On this occasion, tableaus of various departments showing the development of the district like Health Department, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, District Industry Centre, Animal Husbandry Department, Fisheries, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, Horticulture Department, Agriculture Department, Ajivka Development, Magnrega Scheme And tableaus were presented by Lead Bank and band and folk dances of Punjab Giddha, Bhangra and Ranga-Rang and cultural patriotism program were also presented by the students of different schools. Martial art Gatka of Punjab was also presented on this occasion.

On this historic day, the district Red Cross organization also distributed tricycles and sewing machines to the needy. On this occasion, the district administration honored freedom fighters, and families of Kargil martyrs including youth clubs, sportsmen, social service organizations, and good-performing officers/employees, etc. Meanwhile, the district administration honored the chief guest by presenting mementos. Earlier, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains paid warm tributes to the martyrs at Hussainiwala by placing floral wreaths on their memorials and remembering their great sacrifice.
