The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Jaspal Singh, a registry clerk posted at Tehsil Dirba of District Sangrur, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the registry clerk Jaspal Singh has been arrested on the complaint of Sukhdev Singh, a resident of village Soolar, district Sangrur.

He said that the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the accused was demanding Rs 10,000 from him to get the land registered.

After investigating his information, the vigilance team of Patiala range laid a trap and arrested the alleged accused clerk on the spot by taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.

He said that a case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala and further proceedings have been initiated.
